Another tip if you’re in a hurry is most grocery stores will sell pre-chopped beef stew meat.

This is exactly the kind of recipe that I love my instant pot for. I don’t even use it as a pressure cooker. Just simply being able to saute the meat and vegetables in the same pot I’m slow cooking in saves me time and dishes.

(sees 1/2 cup salt and pepper, respectively, twice no less, equaling 1 cup of salt and 1 cup of pepper total)

Uhhhhhhh, are those measurements accurate? Did you mean 1/2 tsp or tbsp?

  4. Eric Says:

Glad to see more slow cooker recipes! Now where did I put that thing?

  5. Judy K Says:

I have found that more waxy potatoes, such as reds, hold up better throughout cooking.

  6. Daniel Says:

What cut of beef do you like to use?

  7. Name Says:

Looks great, will try. Not sure if you meant it to say ‘1/2 a CUP of salt”, though? 😀

  8. Christa Says:

Oh baby no not a 1/2 cup each salt and pepper

  9. Matt Says:

Looking forward to trying this out. Thanks for posting!!

That’s not even a joke. They need to make stew scented candles or something.
I’ll definitely try this recipe! Thanks!

Agreed Judy. Also, try substituting a parsnip for one of the carrots, it adds a little more umph, and skip the super expensive pre-cut “beef stew” beef at the grocery store. Buy a round or sirloin roast (whatever is on sale) and dice that sucker yourself. It takes two minutes.

Shoot, I really need a slow cooker in my life.
