Good sir, you make using new recipes an exceptionally awesome experience. May I suggest, for selfish reasons of course, that you make your amazing Daft Punk piece, available in t-shirt form…. Because I want it. I want it very much and would thrust my money at you, in the fashion of a popular internet meme, were I given the chance to own it.

Thank you for yet another fabulous recipe and a good day to you sir!

  2. urapns66 Says:

This looks awesome I made you lasagna very easy and delicious hopefully this is just as good! Also… no thanksgiving foods? that would be great indeed (not that this couldn’t be used as one)

  3. Joey Says:

Sooo happy to see an update!

  4. Gnomefan Says:

Right on man, been updating this every day for weeks. Can’t wait to make this stuff.

  5. Claudio Says:

The recipe calls for vanilla (for the noobs, is “extract” implied after that?), but I don’t see how much and in which step. Am I missing an image?

  6. MagistrateDelta Says:

Someone should do a remake of Back to the Future where the only change is the insertion of Daft Punk into the 50’s

  7. GooglePerplexed Says:

Loved cooking for a long time! This just makes it even better! Glad to see new content ๐Ÿ˜€

  8. Ao_Andon Says:

For an interesting twist on this one, you can make a thick sugar glaze, and thin it out with a bit of spiced rum. I like using Captain Morgan Black for my banana bread

  9. Melissa Masuda Says:

Cool it!!! Fezes are cool!!! I love it. May try it later today!

  10. michael Says:

  12. Scott Ree Says:

Awesome, I’ve been looking for a new banana bread recipe!

  13. DRE Says:

Shiny! Going to assemble ingredients and try this one out!

  14. Meghan Says:

I think I will be presenting this to the family over the holidays. Do you mind terribly if they drool over your genius?

  15. Me Says:

I am conflicted, I adore banana bread but despise people’s insistence on adding nuts too it. It takes away from the glory that is the banana!

  16. AaronFrost353 Says:

I was starting to worry something was wrong. Almost two months between updates?!

But in all seriousness, can’t wait to make this.

  17. James Says:

It never occurred to me to put peanut butter in my banana bread. And I’m such a big fan of peanut butter. Thanks!

  18. Capital X Says:

Maybe I’m missing it, but where does the vanilla come in?

  19. Michaelm Says:

    Made it. Love it!

  20. Bigman397 Says:

Definitely remember to add your splash of vanilla!

  21. ReggieC Says:

So just curious but are you planning on making recipes with a difficulty higher than retarded?

  22. Ashton Says:

….I just had a wonderful glorious thought. Nutela instead of peanutbutter. I will have to try this.

  23. Cerxi Says:

Yes, it’s vanilla extract, not beans or anything.
It’s the small brown bottle near the front in the first ingredients shot. It’s used in the “Add it” panel, it’s immediately to the left of the words “Add it” and to the right of “1 cup” coming off the flour.

  24. Adrian Says:

Good god man. What Hana said. Take all my monies, I want that DaftPunk shirt.

And on the back, you can have the WHOLE banana bread recipe on there. So we’ll never, ever, ever, forget how to make it.

Can you imagine the fun it would be to make this bread with the recipe on the back of your shirt?

“Hon, hold still, I can’t read the 4th step.”

  25. Andrew Says:

Finally! All the recipes on this site are amazing, I just wish they came out more often

  26. Hasaan Says:

I used nutella instead of peanut butter. Worked very well A++

  27. Johnonymous Says:

What would work as a nut-free substitute for peanut butter? I have a severe tree nut/peanut allergy, and I want some of this too.

  28. Matthew Says:

Just made this. I pulled it out of the oven less than 30 minutes ago, and I’ve already eaten half of the loaf. I guess I’d better share quickly before it’s all gone.

  29. Thomas MacNamara Says:

Just a heads up, I did add this site to the whitelist for addblock. It is totaly worth it.

I will be showing this to the school I work at as it will be good for some of our at risk children and those living away from home. Thanks Mate!

  30. Sean Says:

Hey! I made this last night with limited ingredients (omitted sour cream and allspice) due to their lack of availability here in Korea.

I also accidentally added 1 cup of flour instead of 1.5 cups, but I’m proud to say my first baking experience besides cookies was a success! It came out very moist (less flour) but was ultimately devoured by all of my friends at dinner and co-workers the next morning (Thanksgiving treat for everyone).

Thank you so much for the great recipe. I can’t WAIT for the book to come out and, honestly, found out about this site and read every recipe in one day because I found them so great, well-written, and funny. Keep up the good work and keep ’em coming, your stuff is brilliant!

  32. Naurel Says:

as someone who is allergic to nuts, you really like to add them into everything you make, huh

  33. Blue Says:

Holy brotherducker, yeah… I had Daft Punk in my head after about the first four panels.

Have I mentioned you’re awwwesome! :singsong:

  34. Hyrup Says:

I am looking forward to making this one, but I have a question. You list salt as one of the ingredients, but I do not see where/how much salt goes into the recipe in the steps.

  35. Ivette Says:

I licked the spoon and it was magic! Its in the oven right now, can’t wait!

  36. Rocket Says:

I never baked anything before. I don’t know how to cook. I saw this yesterday, and today said “screw it”, I’m making this.

I threw everything in the bowl, and put it in the oven. Let’s see what happens ^^

    P.S. It smells awesome!

  37. Lurky Lurekerson Says:

i agree with Hana. send this design in. i will lambast them with encouraging/threatening e-mails til its made. AND, you get some loot. WIN/WIN.

  38. Logan Says:

Yes to the Daft Punk shirt idea! I would definitely buy that shirt if I could find one.

  39. Shey Says:

It’s in the oven right now. I have never made any of your recipes before, despite the fact that I follow you ruthlessly (:D), but I love them all! I needed to make something for my ceramics final (we had to make cookware and use it) and I made a bread pan. But then, behold a sad tale! The bread pan had nothing to be made in it. :(. BUT NEVER FEAR! Cooking Comically came just in time with PEANUT BUTTER BANANA BREAD! And I said to myself, I SHALL MAKE THAT BREAD! 0o0! And I did. And I licked the spoon. And I died. The end. XD And tomorrow morning, the rest of the class shall die. Because this is freakin amazing. Thank you for the awesomeness of this bread!

  40. Liz Says:

Loved the Doctor Who reference! Thanks for the recipe ;).

    Everything you do is awesome!
    What is that game?

  43. M/Thunder Says:

Made this for some friends one night. While it was my first time baking anything, it turned out absolutely delicious! May make this again only with Nutella instead of peanut butter like others have suggested.

  44. Lyric Says:

Are… Are you playing Black Mesa? You always drop the best video game references.

  45. Guilherme Says:

What game is that ? Looks like some valve title… Half Life? nah… what is that..?

    Daft Punk!

  46. Guilherme Says:

ops silly me, didn’t see it in the Notes.

  47. Shelley Says:

I’ve been a fan of your site for a while, and I have finally tried a recipe – chose this for my first one!. smells delicious this far. It may not make it to work tomorrow for morning tea snacks. Thank you for all of the awesome, Tyler ๐Ÿ™‚

  48. Kat Says:

I love your comics, they’re hilarious! My bf won’t stop gushing about your chili recipe, and I can’t stop drooling over the desserts on here.

PS- You’re absolutely right; guys who can’t cook are guys who don’t get L-A-I-D ๐Ÿ˜›

  49. Traci Says:

Made the bread last night and it is GOOD! I broke it down into 3 mini loafs – there is one left today.

  50. Traci Says:

Side note…I didn’t have sour cream so I used yogurt instead.

  51. Krynne Says:

For those with peanut/nut allergies this site lists a few great substitutes for the peanut butter:

  52. Chris & Daniele Says:

We made the recipe as instructed, for the most part, but baked them into mini muffins instead of loaf bread. Also we wanted them to take on a more dessert-like feel, so we added chocolate chips. They were a big hit at a party we attended and we recommend this option to anyone who plans on using this recipe for entertaining! For mini muffins, cook at 350 for about 20 minutes.

  53. Denise Says:

I have 4 ripe bananas at this moment. Will put them to good use with this recipe tomorrow morning.
I love the Dr Who with the cool fez ๐Ÿ˜‰

  54. Lauren Says:

Daft Punk Ref- very nice. ๐Ÿ™‚

  55. Rob Says:

It just so happened that I had four ultraripe bananas in my kitchen this morning. Just put it in the oven. Dis gonna be gud.

  58. Ryan Says:

Just tried this this morning. The sour cream, peanut butter, and allspice really add a lot to it, as opposed to normal banana bread. Thank you!

  59. Luisa E Says:

The absolute best banana bread ever! i sprinkled cinnamon sugar on the bottom of pan and over the bread before baking. I’m looking forward to trying other recipes from you. Delicious!!!

  60. Vidde Says:

Is it really important that I set the oven to 176, or will 175 do just fine? Hehe. ๐Ÿ˜€

  61. MeganM Says:

This recipe is so easy and delicious!
I made it for my dad and he eats a slice almost every day!

  62. Gregor Says:

I am often disappointed in the banana breads I try because it lacks true banana flavor. Well, this banana bread was by FAR the BEST banana bread I’ve ever made! Perfect flavor, great consistency and easy to follow recipe. I did add a Tsp of vanilla and cooked for approx 70 minutes. Thanks for the great recipe! I’m sure to use it again and again and again!

  63. Paul Says:

Just finished off the first bite of this banana bread, and IT IS WONDERFUL! I did have to cook it an hour and 15 minutes, and I added 1 tsp vanilla, a bit of mace, and some cinnamon. Just Perfect!

  64. Freek Says:

I’ve had this bookmarked since you posted it back and finally got around to trying it out. And it is awesome!

I used a glass mold instead of a metal one, and had to leave it in the oven for 75 minutes instead of 45.

  65. Anna Says:

Wonderful recipe! This was my first attempt at baking bread without a machine, and it was surprisingly easy — I was prepared for much more work! The bread was dense but soft, the crust was lightly crunchy, and the flavor was delicious. I am looking forward to adding garlic and/or rosemary next time. ๏ปฟ
